you don’t move me (1980) lyrics by kevin lay, music by michael barron & kevin lay, recorded july 1983. this is an excerpt from a ubangi-bangi concert at dc space. founded by guitarist/singer/songwriter samantha peterson, the band included zach swagger (drums), susan mumford (vocals and percussion) and me on guitar, banjo and vocals. i play guitar and sing lead with samantha singing harmony on this tune. this was recorded on a portable cassette deck, so the sound quality is not great, but it’s one of my favorite tunes.

you don’t move me  (lyrics by kevin lay)

easter sunday

all of the chosen were over at your house

away and frozen

glass is cool

you slip away

i get so hot when you go away from me

so go away from me

now i know you don’t move me

now i see you don’t move me

now i know you’re not moving me

not african nor prairie roaming

not african nor prairie roaming

you got to throw that culture away

fingers in school

mine not moving

fingers cool

you are not moving me

so go away from me
