Lads,
I’ve got to tell you all that Homo Radio just arrived in the mail (thank you Mikey, all is forgiven ;-) and it’s the best, most modern piece of music I’ve heard in ages!!! Both lyrically and musically it’s not only sophisticated but compelling, too. Groove Agent rocks! I salute you!!!

Hi Michael,
Well I've done my due diligence, one week of listening to Homo Radio at least once a day (you know I don't like to make hasty assessments), and dang if I'm not all a-swoon over your music again. Love the new versions of Take a Bow, Standing By and Something in Rain --I always appreciate hearing the evolution of a song and it's not something you get to do often unless you're seeing someone play live a lot. Current fave is Anywhere But There but it's close to an 8-way tie. Beautiful, fun, moving, clever, disturbing -- you do touch a lot of bases, dear.
Thanks so much for sending me the CD -- you really seem to be in a creative zone lately, I can't believe how productive you are. Hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
xoxo

loooooooooove yr new record. slammin guitar, creamy narratives, crunchy extracurricular instruments, and never needs ironing!
Michael Barron, my friend and musical partner for the past 30 years (oh that's a scary thought) has just released a new CD called Homo Radio. It's something that he should be really proud of. I love it. You may still be able to download it for free from his site. http://michaelbarron.info/Michael_Barron_Music_%26_Art/HomoRadio.html
Homo Radio Review
A friend recently sent me a wonderful surprise, the Homo Radio CD. I say surprise because I’ve become so used to the corporatized, indie music sound that predominates now and Homo Radio IS NOT THAT!!! Rather, it is something amazingly modern sounding, original music played with passion and poetry. Guitarist Michael Barron, founder of the new wave band “Tiny Desk Unit,” has pushed his fabulous guitar work into some of the most passionately crafted songs you’ll have heard in years, an avant-garde rock CD ably complimented by the futuro-funk bass stylings of Dr. William X Harvey of the Urban Verbs. These are something altogether new to my jaded ears, biographic song poems marked by guts, grit and grace.
Together, and complimented by friends, Barron and Harvey present a palette of uniquely, tenaciously crafted songs, from the proto-psychedelic “Packer”, to the balls out rocker “Come Outside” and the sitar, reverb drenched drone of ”Something in Rain” that remind this listener of the compelling marriage between poetry and rock at it’s best.
A number of these tunes are superb dance floor hits, my favorites being “Anywhere But There” and “Come Outside” and “Take a Bow.” Others, like “Sadder Than the Sound” draw you into its lush constructs with repeated listenings. The same friend told me that this band is breaking in a drummer and preparing to hit the clubs. I’ll see you there. I’ll be the guy up front furiously playing air guitar and singing along with Michael.
